“Congratulations NAFOA on 40 years of impact for Indian Country!” — Celebrating 40 Years of NAFOA

Christie Jacobs, Director (Retired), Indian Tribal Governments Office, IRS

How many NAFOA Conferences have you attended?

How are you involved with NAFOA?
In my federal government career, I was often a speaker at NAFOA conferences.

Tell us about your favorite NAFOA Memory:
I have so many! NAFOA conferences always inspired me with new perspectives and information due to the premier level of speakers and the engaged audience. I was always humbled and challenged to be a participant on those panels. Congratulations NAFOA on 40 years of impact for Indian Country!

What does NAFOA mean to you?
I will always be grateful to NAFOA for helping me and my staff create an office within the IRS that could assist tribal governments with tax administration effectively while respecting the sovereign status of those unique governments.
